National Safety Code (NSC) Number

A National Safety Code (NSC) Number is a mandatory commercial safety certificate issued by the government of British Columbia to any business operating commercial passenger vehicles. In the BC limousine sector, an NSC certificate is legally required for any vehicle designed to transport more than 10 passengers, as well as smaller vehicles operating under specific passenger-directed frameworks. The NSC system monitors an operator's safety profile by tracking driver abstracts, logging hours of service, recording commercial vehicle inspection certificates, and tracking roadside safety violations. BC limo companies must pass periodic NSC facility audits to prove they maintain accurate maintenance logs and employment files for all active chauffeurs. Failing to uphold strict NSC safety standards can result in the immediate suspension of the company's provincial passenger transportation plates.
